Linda Bloomfield makes thrown porcelain tableware on the wheel. She likes to show the hand of the maker with throwing lines and dimples pressed into the freshly thrown clay. She uses satin matt glazes on the outside and colour on the inside. Her porcelain nesting bowls were featured on the Great Pottery Throw Down.
Her latest work is inspired by the still life paintings of Giorgio Morandi.
She has made a range of bottles, vases and jugs in subtle colours: white, grey, black and mustard.
Linda originally trained as a materials scientist and has written several books including Colour in Glazes and The Handbook of Glaze recipes. She is currently writing a book on Science for Potters.
