On Tuesday 3rd February, our CEO Hannah Ault, who also serves as President of Ceramics UK, attended a Parliamentary Dinner with Chris McDonald.
The event brought together industry leaders and policymakers to discuss the future of UK ceramics and its vital role within Labour’s industrial strategy.
As both CEO and President, Hannah was proud to champion a sector that is not only rich in heritage, but central to the UK’s future manufacturing success.
The Key Asks from Ceramics UK
At the event, Hannah set out three clear priorities on behalf of the sector:
-
Energy Costs & Supercharger Access
Ensuring all UK ceramic manufacturers can access the Supercharger scheme to remain internationally competitive. -
UK ETS Flexibility
Securing a fair and realistic approach to decarbonisation that recognises the specific challenges of ceramic production. -
Trade Enforcement
Calling for stronger government leadership to ensure fair competition against imports produced with ultra-low-cost energy.
These were focused, practical asks centred on competitiveness, fairness and long-term sustainability.
