Packaging Information

As a manufacturer, we are deeply committed to continually improving our packaging to ensure it is both functional and environmentally responsible.

Clay Packaging

25% of our clay is currently in 100% LDPE Virgin polymer.

Since 2023 our clay packaging is made of polythene with 30% PCW (Recycled Polymer).

The current ranges and clays in Recycled Polymer are:

All Stoneware Clays
All Porcelain Clays
All Terracotta Clays
All PaperClays
All Professional Clays
ES 5, ES 20, ES 50 & ES 60 Earthstone
Along with plain Black / Blue & Red bags

We plan to have all clay in eco-friendly bags by 2026.


Slip Packaging

Our slip tubs were changed in 2023 from a bucket to a fully sealed canister to ensure a safe leak free arrival during shipping and easier transportation around the pottery studio.

The pouring canister closure is made of PP and the tub of HDPE but is fully recyclable when cleaned.

However many of our customers are choosing to use their tubs in some wonderful sustainable ways from watering cans to plant containers!

Approximate sizes of packaging:

CLAY BAGS : 44 x 17 x 8cm
PAPERCLAY BAGS: 35 x 12 x 9cm
SLIP CANISTERS: 32 x 13 x 19cm

Raw Material Packaging

70% of our Raw Material range is packaged in brown paper.
The remaining materials are packed in plastic and hessian backed plastic due to their composition.
We are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint and seeking eco-friendly packaging alternatives for our range.
Delivery Packaging


Orders under 75kg:
Brown Cardboard boxes and compostable packing peanuts made from starch are used to pack deliveries. These materials are 100% biodegradable in water, and effective at minimising damage by filling gaps and providing cushioning.

Orders under 75kg:
Our pallets are currently plastic shrink wrapped, but we are exploring the possibility of switching to biodegradable shrinkwrap.
