Valentine Clays Marks 45 Years with a Spectacular Celebration and Exciting New Clay Launch
Valentine Clays threw open its doors for a fantastic day of celebration to mark an impressive 45 years in business, welcoming potters, enthusiasts, and industry friends to a vibrant and inspiring event at our Stoke-on-Trent headquarters.
The highlight of the day was the launch of several brand-new clays, including the much-anticipated Sapphire Porcelain – a smooth, high-quality porcelain that’s already creating a buzz in the ceramics community. Visitors had the chance to be among the first to get hands-on with our latest innovations, as well as test out their favourite existing clays in our on-site studio.
Throughout the day, factory tours offered a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into how our clays are produced – from raw materials to the final product – with our team on hand to share insights into the craftsmanship and care that goes into every bag.
The studio space was buzzing with activity as guests jumped on the wheel to throw with our new and existing clays, supported by our friendly technical team who were ready to answer questions, offer advice, and chat through all things clay.
Adding an extra touch of excitement was the appearance of none other than pottery TV favourite Keith Brymer Jones, who took to the stage to speak passionately about ceramics, share personal stories, and put on a spectacular throwing demonstration to a packed and captivated audience.
The day was also a chance for visitors to meet the Valentine Clays team, celebrate our journey so far, and look ahead to the future of British ceramics. From potters just starting out to seasoned professionals, there was something for everyone – and a shared sense of community, creativity, and pride in the industry we love.
Managing Director Hannah Ault said:
