Schwarz Clay is a high-quality German stoneware known for its distinctive colour range and excellent workability.

Firing from grey to anthracite, this clay contains 25% chamotte (0-0.2mm) which enhances its structural integrity and versatility. The recommended firing range for Schwarz Clay is between 1000°C and 1240°C.

This plastic clay body is ideal for building smaller pieces as well as throwing on the potter's wheel, and it is particularly well-suited for creating larger works. At lower firing temperatures, Schwarz Clay exhibits nice, light grey shades, transitioning to a rich black as the temperature increases.
