PRIOR TO DELIVERY
Our office will confirm delivery prior to dispatch over the telephone.
We won’t dispatch until this date is confirmed, as we need to agree on a date that you will be on-site and confirm vehicle access.
IMPORTANT
It is imperative that the date agreed is a date you are fully available to accept the delivery from 9–5 pm.
This is because:
-
With all palletised deliveries, our carrier can't give a set delivery timeframe other than 9–5 pm.
-
If you aren’t on site when the carrier arrives, you will incur a redelivery charge which will need to be settled before redelivery. (please also see the redelivery charge point below)
Please be aware, that this fee will be as much as the original delivery cost.
DURING DELIVERY
Calling en route
Although this is often requested, our delivery partners do state that this service isn’t something they offer and is in all instances completely down to driver discretion.
Pallet moving
Drivers are only obliged to park and offload the pallet to curb side.
We know some drivers will assist further, but again this is down to driver discretion, not guaranteed, and not offered by our delivery partner.
Damaged deliveries
If a consignment arrives damaged, we need to be made aware of this within 24 hours of receipt.
Noticeable damage needs to be documented on the driver’s delivery note and photos emailed to sales@valentineclays.co.uk
Redelivery charge
The driver will stay on site for a maximum of 10 minutes so that both parties can attempt to contact you should there be no one on-site. Failure to reach you within that timeframe, will mean the driver will leave the site and a redelivery charge from our carrier will apply. Any redelivery charges will need to be settled before redelivery.
Delivery address and contact details.
It is important that the delivery address and contact number are correct, and you are reachable on the selected delivery date. Should the delivery address be incorrect, even through simple human error when you order, this is beyond our control to easily rectify and a rerouting charge from our carrier will apply. Any rerouting charges will need to be settled before redelivery.
Access
If you have stated, access is achievable with an Arctic lorry and on arrival by the driver it is discovered that access isn’t, the delivery will go back to the depot. At the depot, the consignment will be re-palletised to 750kgs per pallet to enable a re-delivery on a smaller lorry. This will always result in a redelivery charge. All redelivery charges must be settled before redelivery.
