We're excited to announce that the Valentine Clays Open Day returns on Wednesday 10th September, and this year we're giving the event a fresh new look.
If you've joined us in previous years, you'll know our Open Days have always been about opening the factory doors, meeting fellow makers and getting hands-on with clay.
For 2026, we're taking that experience one step further by introducing two free but ticketed sessions, designed to offer more in-depth demonstrations, expert talks and practical workshops.
Choose Your Session
Morning Session – All About Casting
To celebrate the launch of our brand new LoStone Casting Slip, the morning will be dedicated entirely to slip casting.
Whether you're completely new to casting, curious to learn more or an experienced slip caster looking to pick up tips from an expert, this session has something for everyone.
We're delighted to welcome renowned ceramic artist, author and Series 3 Great Pottery Throw Down judge, Sue Pryke, who will be sharing her knowledge through a live demonstration and talk before leading a hands-on studio session where attendees will have the opportunity to try slip casting for themselves.
Afternoon Session – All About Glaze
Our afternoon session celebrates the launch of the LoStone Glaze Range.
Joining us will be David Bainbridge of Milton Bridge Ceramics, who will deliver a demonstration and talk before attendees head into the studio to get hands-on exploring the new glaze range.
Go Behind the Scenes
Whichever session you choose, you'll also enjoy a guided tour of the Valentine Clays factory, offering a unique opportunity to see how our clay is made and meet the people behind the products.
A More Personal Experience
Unlike previous years, this year's event has been designed to be smaller and more interactive.
Each session is limited to just 50 attendees, allowing more time for demonstrations, questions and practical learning.
The event is completely free, but advance booking is essential, with one session available per person. To ensure the places benefit those who will get the most from the day, tickets are only for people actively working with ceramics.
Tickets Coming Soon
Tickets will be released at 10am 31st July, so now is the perfect time to save the date.
Whether you're looking to discover the possibilities of slip casting, explore our latest glaze developments or simply spend the day surrounded by fellow ceramicists, we'd love you to join us.
Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for ticket announcements and further event details.
