In October, Hannah Ault stepped well outside her comfort zone and onto the dancefloor, joining 11 other local business leaders to take part in Strictly Knot Dancing, a Strictly Come Dancing–style charity event that she not only competed in, but also helped to organise.

After months of rehearsals, planning and fundraising, the event culminated in a spectacular evening that exceeded all expectations. Completely sold out, Strictly Knot Dancing brought together performers, supporters and members of the local community for a night filled with entertainment, excitement and generosity.

The results were truly remarkable. The event raised an incredible £145,000 for Dougie Mac Hospice, making it the highest amount ever raised for the charity by a single event. This extraordinary achievement marks a historic moment for Dougie Mac and highlights the power of community-led fundraising when people come together for a shared cause.

From the very beginning, Hannah’s dedication, energy and commitment were evident. Balancing the demands of organising a large-scale charity event while learning choreography and performing on the night was no small feat, yet her passion for the cause shone through at every stage. Her efforts, alongside those of the other dancers, organisers, sponsors and volunteers, were instrumental in making the event such a resounding success.

Strictly Knot Dancing was more than just a dance competition, it was a celebration of community spirit, collaboration and generosity, all in support of the vital work carried out by Dougie Mac Hospice.

A huge congratulations to Hannah and everyone involved in delivering such a phenomenal event. The funds raised will make a meaningful difference, and the success of the evening will be remembered for years to come.
